Creating space to explore grief

We are really pleased to be hosting a space as part of “Dying Matters Week”, organised by Full Circle Funerals.

We will be creating an interactive retreat space at Headingley Methodist Church (LS6 3HZ) on Thursday 11 May from 3pm – 6pm, where you can work your way through a series of five stations exploring the process of grief, using a range of creative methods such as memorial making, art reflection and spoken word meditation. We encourage you to reflect on your own experiences and beliefs around dying, death and loss, and we suggest you allow around an hour to visit all the stations. Refreshments will be available, and the church and gardens will also be open for private meditation.

Please let us know you’d like to attend by registering on Eventbrite.

Additional Information:

The entrance to Headingley Methodist Church is on Chapel Street, which is approximately 15-minutes walk from Burley Park Train Station and 20-minutes walk from Headingley Train Station. Alternatively, there are a number of different bus routes which travel along Otley Road, and there are various options for parking locally.

At Leeds Sanctuary, we value the mental and physical wellbeing of every individual. With this in mind, Mental Health First Aiders will be available for a conversation if any challenging topics arise during the afternoon.

Like many organisations, we like to take photos and sometimes short videos so that we can showcase the work we’re doing in our various digital and print communications. If you would prefer not to be in any photos, please let us know by email or during the session, and we will ensure that you are not featured.
