City of Neighbours
City of Neighbours is a two-part project with the ultimate aim of developing activities and communities which correspond directly to local people’s needs, and the challenges they are facing.
The first part of our project took place within existing local services – listening to people living and working in Beeston and Holbeck, and Hunslet and Riverside Wards, and to the organisations providing the services.
We are grateful to St Luke’s Church, St Andrew’s Methodist Church, Beeston Hill Residents Group, Beeston Hill United Free Church, Youthy, Re-Establish, Hamara, Hunslet Methodist Church, LSTen, Linking Leeds and The Hunslet Club for their support in this phase.
The second part of the project will use what we have learned through our listening to develop new activities, communities and/or services which are co-produced with local people. We believe that our unique offering of community building, justice-seeking and wellbeing work, together with local people, is a powerful force which can bring real change and improvement to societies.
City of Neighbours will launch for the first time in May 2026 in the Beeston and Holbeck, and Hunslet and Riverside Wards, and this work will be funded by the Inner South West Community Committee.

INTERNATIONAL MEAL
Gather with Leeds Sanctuary, St Luke’s Church and West Yorkshire Citizens for a “bring and share” feast this October!
We’re inviting you to bring your national dish to share with your neighbours, and we’ll bring sides, drinks and desserts. We’ll also prepare some conversation starters to help you really get to know your neighbours!
The International Meal will be after the Sunday morning worship Service at St Luke’s on Sunday 04 October, and you are very welcome to attend both the Service and the Meal, or the Meal alone.
