Chaplaincy

A Chaplain is a person of faith who offers spiritual and pastoral support. They will offer warmth, kindness and compassion to anyone who finds themself needing support or simply needs someone to talk to. This could be a one-off conversation or a number of conversations, depending on the individual need. You will find Chaplains in all sorts of places and spaces – hospitals, the police service, courts, and sports to name a few.

Our Chaplaincy service is offered by our City Centre Minister, Deacon Judith Marshall. Judith creates a safe, confidential space for a non-judgmental conversation, led by you, about whatever it is you need to process or talk through. Whilst Judith is a Christian minister, our chaplaincy service is for everyone – of all faiths, backgrounds and beliefs.

We are currently partnering with St George’s Crypt to offer a chaplaincy service to people living and working in their residences and working in their charity shops.

If you would appreciate a conversation with Judith, please do drop her an email.

We are pleased to be able to offer our Chaplaincy service for free, but we would be grateful if you would consider making a donation or becoming a regular giver to Leeds Sanctuary so that we can continue to run these sessions for anyone who would like to come.

Resources

Judith writes regular blog posts reflecting on her Christian faith, and we share podcast episodes every couple of months under the name, “Good Neighbours”, which we hope will be an opportunity to learn about different faith topics and Judith’s work at Leeds Sanctuary.
