Leeds Craftivists
Craftivism is a form of activism that is gentle and kind. Leeds Craftivists are a group of creatives who are passionate about changing the world for the better; who believe that if we’re hoping to build a kinder, more gentle world, then our actions must be kind and gentle too.
Leeds Craftivists was formed in 2020 and we have campaigned for change on many different issues, running on-site and online and partnering with people and organisations across the UK. Since 2023 we have chosen to meet on-site only in Leeds city centre, running quarterly campaigns which give us time to learn, share and craft in a really considered way.
To find out more about our group, you can read our Ethos below, email our Justice Lead, Emma Temple, or visit our Events page to register for the next meeting.
Leeds Craftivists is open to anyone of any faith or none, but if you’d like to know more about our Christian reasons for running the group, you can find out more here.
“It has been inspirational being involved in this group.”
Make a donation
We are pleased to be able to offer Leeds Craftivists for free, but we would be grateful if you would consider making a donation or becoming a regular giver to Leeds Sanctuary so that we can continue to run these sessions for anyone who would like to come.
Accessibility and Safeguarding
If you would like to come to one of our Craftivists gatherings but have concerns about a venue, please contact Emma Temple, our Justice Lead, for a conversation.
We believe that Safeguarding is at the heart of Sanctuary, and you can read our Safeguarding policy here. We do take photos at these events which may be shared in digital spaces and in print, but if you would prefer not to be in these photos, please let a member of our Team know on the day.
