Have Your Voice Heard

  • Leeds, England United Kingdom (map)

Have Your Voice Heard (HYVH) is a group of young people working towards a better future for themselves and other young people in Leeds.

Through creative activities, new experiences and skills workshops, we aim to nurture young people’s self-esteem, build community and make sure their voice is heard. The activities are informed and shaped by the community so they can try new things and do things they enjoy with others.

We meet every fortnight on a Sunday afternoon, at a venue in Leeds city centre, and the group is open to young adults with lived experience of mental health needs.

If you’d like more information or to join the group, please contact our Wellbeing Practitioner, Eleanor.

Additional Information:

For details of our Safeguarding Policy, please click here.

Our Wellbeing Practitioner, Eleanor, has consulted with the current group members to ensure access needs are taken into account as a priority, and the venue we currently use has a flat entrance, no stairs and a fully accessible bathroom.  A sensory map has been created which details lighting levels, noise levels and other potential stimuli.

We will be taking photos at this event which may be used both digitally and in print for marketing and information purposes. If you do not wish to be photographed, please let one of our Team know on the day.

Most of our staff team are Mental Health First Aiders. If you’d appreciate a conversation about your mental health or any concerns you have, please contact us and we can make arrangements.

We are delighted to share that the National Lottery Community Fund has granted us funding for this group, but if you’d like to donate to support Leeds Sanctuary as an organisation, you can do that at the link below.
