Leeds Craftivists

  • The Community Wellbeing Hub Reginald Terrace Leeds, England, LS7 3EZ United Kingdom (map)

Climate change is a racial justice issue.

Western, industrialised countries make up just 20% of the global population, but create 80% of all global emissions. People living in the Global South are the ones dealing with the consequences of our systems.

This Autumn/ Winter, Leeds Craftivists will be campaigning on Climate Racism. Join a group of local activists using craft to encourage those in power to make change happen.

We welcome anyone with any craft or activism experience, or none! Craft materials will be provided and you are also very welcome to bring your own craft project. You only need to sign up once to come to any or all of our meetings.

Visit TicketSource to book your place, or let us know you can make it in the Craftivists WhatsApp group.

We aim to have a qualified Mental Health First Aider at each of our gatherings. This community is facilitated by Emma Temple, our Justice Lead, who is a Mental Health First Aider.

We will be taking photos at this event which may be used both digitally and in print for marketing and information purposes. If you do not wish to be photographed, please let one of our Team know on the day.

If you are concerned that Imagine Climate Hub may be a challenging venue for you to attend, but you’d like to come, please contact Emma for a conversation about how we can support you to come.

We are delighted to be able to offer our events, communities and resources for free, but we would be grateful if you would consider making a donation or becoming a regular giver so that we can continue to run our activities and create new resources for anyone who would like to access them. There will be opportunities at this event to make a donation, but should you wish to do this now, please visit our website.
